Very Rare ‘Bridgeport - Colt Single Action Army - Belt Set’ the Colt revolver is an early serial # 732 and is martially marked U.S. inspected by ‘S’ on the bbl. and the fast draw Bridgeport rig is marked with a Patent Date of January 17, 1882 – when the Indian Wars in Apache country were still raging and western Lawmen/Outlaws would have used a fast draw belt set like this as well.

A very rare and unique Indian War era quick-draw belt rig set---this Bridgeport rig was patented in 1882 by Louis Flatau the Sheriff of Camp County in West Texas. The shooter could rotate the gun up and fire it in one swift action without ever removing it from the gun belt. It is interesting that it was dismissed by the military but this on an early US Cavalry Colt Single Action Army with a 7 1/2in barrel and martially marked U.S. inspected by a unknown early inspector ‘S this gun would have been issued to the US Cavalry in 1873 during the 1st year of production. However this one escaped military usage and the recall and was carried on the Western Frontier by Lawmen and Outlaws alike, Marshall James Gillette wore a similar Bridgeport Rig in El Paso, Texas. An important Rarity with the added intrigue of an early 3 digit serial number military Colt Single Action Army in excellent condition brown patina as common with the early production Colts as they stayed on the frontier for a long period of usage. Crisp action and a good bore this gun was well taken care of and near perfect condition.

I would sell the Bridgeport nickel plated belt attachment by itself for just $4995 if ordered separately
