General Dwight D. Eisenhower – his 1st "Ike" style uniform jacket made for him in England as Major General US Army in 1942

A very rare custom made in England "Ike" uniform jacket and hat, this is the very 1st made for him in this Ike style design when he was promoted from Brigadier General to Major General of the US Army on March 22, 1942 in England. He remained a Major General only briefly, rising in rank quickly, as only 4 months after this uniform was made for him he was promoted to Lieutenant General in July 1942, promoted again in February 1943 to a 4 Star Full General, and then in December 1944 after D-Day to the highest rank as a 5 Star Supreme Commander, a rank only a few in American Military History have ever attained including George Washington.

He became the 1st and only Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe. At the time this uniform was made for him he was in command of the European Theater of Operations in England, this "Ike" style jacket was designed after the British Military short coats he had seen and it became his own personal style of uniform that every US Army officer wanted a similar style as "Ike's" although it was not officially adopted by the US Army until 1944. The 2 Silver Stars of Major General are hand embroidered in silver thread on each shoulder strap, his Allied Forces shoulder patch is prominently sewn onto his upper sleeve. His campaign hat is also custom made in England with identical hand sewn in silver thread 2 Stars and his initials in gold stamped inside the sweat band 'D.D.E.'

This uniform descended in the Eisenhower family and is accompanied by a signed letter from his wife Mamie Eisenhower donating it to a Charity in 1967 at Indian Wells, California where they had retired after his two terms as President of the United States of America from the White House to this California golfing community, their home there became known as the 'Eisenhower Cottage', this is where Ike also wrote his famous book "At Ease". Mamie must have been comfortable in donating this uniform as it was only middle grade Major Generals uniform jacket and hat, a rank he had held only 4 months until he was again promoted, however she may have not realized the historical importance of this being his very 1st "Ike" style jacket that he wore. The highest ranking American Military officer of the 20th Century, an American hero and patriot, a 2 term President of America - those Eisenhower Years' are among the best in American History. Of all the World War II uniforms that exist this is the Best in Existence.

Gold Wound Badge of 20 July 1944
The Assassination attempt on Hitler at his Bunker

This Gold Wound Badge of 20 July 1944 was issued and was only presented by Hitler himself after the failed assassination attempt on his life at his Bunker at the Wolf's Lair. Colonel von Stauffenberg led the plot in a planned coup to kill Hitler and take over the government of Germany in an effort to offer a Peace Treaty to the Allied Forces that had just landed during the D-Day invasion June 6, 1944.

It is the rarest of all German Medals is an extremely rare example of the 'Gold Grade' of the 20 July 1944 Wound Badge. This badge is made of "800" fine silver and is hallmarked on the reverse with its fineness mark "800" and the manufacturer's number #2. The obverse wreath, helmet and crossed swords are worked in fine gold gilding. This medal was captured and brought home by 1st Sergeant George A. Harkess of the 6860th US Army Intelligence Assault Task Force, a 52 man elite unit known as the 'T' Force that landed in France on D-Day and pushed behind the enemy lines, their job was to capture and hold the assets of the German Army, Harkess went all the way through Germany to Adolf Hitler's home at Berchtesgaden. Harkess brought back numerous War Trophy's from Nazi Germany, see his attached official US Army 'War Trophy' list of Flags & Medals that he brought home to the United States after the war.

This special Gold gilded Wound Badge from the assassination attempt at Hitler's Bunker is immediately recognizable by the date—July 20, 1944, and Hitler's signature embossed on the front of the award. Considered by WWII collectors and museums to be the "Holy Grail" of all German WWII medals. Only 5 were ever presented by Hitler some were posthumous to the wife's of his staff that were killed during this assassination attempt. Twenty-four men were present when the bomb detonated; one officer was killed and three succumbed to their wounds a short time later. Thereafter, Hitler ordered this special wound badge be awarded commemorating the event, as he believed "fate had intervened" for him.

There is a similar Gold Wound Badge on display at the WWII Museum in New Orleans. https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/looting-reich-german-wound-badge which was also a captured 'War Trophy' brought home by a US Army soldier who took it from the Reich Chancellery in Berlin 1945, it is among the most prized items in this museums entire collection and comes with a similar provenance as this medal.

This is the rarest of all the Medals of the Third Reich and to own one with this type of irrefutable collection provenance as being captured as a War Trophy by 1st Sergeant George A. Harkess of the 6860th US Army Intelligence Assault Task Force, a 52 man elite unit known as the 'T' Force that landed in France on D-Day and pushed behind the enemy lines, their job was to capture and hold the assets of the German Army, Harkess went all the way through Germany to Adolf Hitler’s home at Berchtesgaden in 1945. This is a once in a life-time opportunity to acquire the most important Medal of Nazi Germany with historical provenance.

Italy WWII Fascists Army - Black Shirt hat similar to the one that Mussolini himself wore, It has the insignia of 2 gilt stripes and 2 gilt stars on the side, with the Fascists Army insignia hnd sewn onto the front. The Milan hat makers name is printed on beautiful gold silk sewn inside the hat. The Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale (MVSN, "Voluntary Militia for National Security"), commonly called the Blackshirts was originally the paramilitary wing of the National Fascist Party and, after 1923, an all-volunteer militia of the Kingdom of Italy. Its members were distinguished by their black uniforms and their loyalty to Benito Mussolini, the Duce (leader) of Fascism, to whom they swore an oath. The founders of the paramilitary groups were nationalist intellectuals, former army officers and young landowners opposing peasants' and country labourers' unions. Their methods became harsher as Mussolini's power grew, and they used violence and intimidation against Mussolini's opponents. In 1943 the MVSN was integrated into the Italian Army. These WWII hats are quite rare.

Combat '100' General Assault Badge was instituted on 1 June 1940 to recognize those personnel who supported an attack but were not eligible for award of the Infantry or Armored Assault Badges. Those eligible were members of the artillery, combat engineers, anti-tank and anti-aircraft units that served with the infantry and armor in the conduct of an assault. In addition, medical personnel were qualified providing they cared for the wounded under close combat conditions.

General conditions prescribed for the award stated that a member not eligible for the Infantry or Armor Assault Badge must take part in three infantry or armored assaults in either a direct or indirect role on three different days.

It soon became apparent that the basic badge was insufficient to recognize the mounting number of assaults that one might have engaged in. On 22 June 1943 grades II through V were added to specify the mounting number of assaults. Each grade bore a rectangular box at the base of the badge containing the number "25", "50", "75" or "100". Credit for the award was made retroactive for two years, back to 22June 1941 when the Russian campaign began. Authorization for the award could be granted by the Division, Corps or Group commanding general.

Poland Home Guard pre-1939 German invasion - hand-made large flag still on its original oak flag staff with large brass Polish Eagle finial made for the Home Guards of Lublin, Poland. Founded by Adam Skwarczynski a Polish independence activist and politician, and Janusz Jedrzejewicz the Prime Minister of Poland from 1933-34 and coauthor of the Constitution of Poland that brought about the presidential system of government to Poland in 1935, both were the main ideologists of the Sanacja movement that this flag represents. The front of the flag says "Honor and Success for Poland – Highest Supreme Law" the other side "Organization of Civic Youth Front Guard" which had over 6,000 members, they were the elite at that time from Lublin and were formed for the defense of their country. This flag would have been used during the German Invasion of Poland in 1939 then secreted away during the Nazi occupation of Poland and subsequent Soviet occupation. Recently discovered in Poland and never before on the market, it is a nice large size of 48 x 48 inches, with hand sewn Eagle and lettering, the flag staff is 8 feet long and unscrews at center and the staff is 2 inches thick, the Eagle finial is cast in brass and shows a nice patina. Any pre WWII flag from Poland is rare as between the Nazi's and Communists they were all destroyed to take away any sense of nationalism that Poland had. A Superb display item from pre-war Poland.

Polish Communists Youth Party Militia Flag post war 1948-56, Związek Młodzieży Polskiej (Union of Polish Youth, the ZMP) was a early post WW2 Polish communist youth organization, existing from 1948 to 1956. It was subordinated to Polish Workers' Party and acted as a tool of political indoctrination towards the youth[. It was formed from the Association of Fighting Youth and for several years it supervised Polish scouting. Membership in it was often obligatory for various purposes, such as being able to attend the universities. Membership was refused to those who were deemed "unsuitable" - due to their ties with the pro-West World War II-era Polish forces or resistance.

This rare flag of the ZMP recently discovered in Poland and never before offered, it has the Polish National Eagle which is massive and hand embroidered in thick silver bullion thread on a silk background, soon after this all symbols of Polish nationalism were prohibited by the Soviet Occupation forces who did not want Poland or any other eastern bloc countries that they occupied after WWII to promote themselves, only Russia. A rare early post-war flag 44 x 48 inches.
